1. Armin van Buuren – A State of Trance
If there is one trance music radio show you’ve heard of, it is probably this one. Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance radio show is the mecca of trance music. The show is broadcasted weekly and boasts over 40 million listeners in 84 different countries and has aired over one thousand episodes- and is still going strong. A State of Trance has won the ‘Best Mix Radio Show’ award at the International Dance Music Awards in Miami an astounding seven times. The show features a mix of the latest trance tunes, interviews with the biggest names in trance music, and commentary from Armin himself.
2. Above & Beyond Group Therapy (ABGT)
Above & Beyond Group Therapy (ABGT) is a weekly radio show that was created by Above & Beyond, a British electronic music trio consisting of Jono Grant, Tony McGuinness, and Paavo Siljamäki. Not only are these three the founders of the legendary Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep record labels, but they also host a very successful podcast, Group Therapy (ABGT).
ABGT airs every Friday on Digitally Imported Radio. The show features new music from Above & Beyond and their peers, as well as classic tracks and exclusive DJ sets. Guests have included Seven Lions, Maor Levi, Genix, Ilan Bluestone, Oliver Smith, and many more. 3. John 00 Fleming – Global Trance Grooves
John Fleming (AKA “John 00 Fleming”), an English trance producer and DJ, created a weekly radio show called “Global Trance Grooves” that features the best in global trance music. Global Trance Grooves was one of the first radio shows that embraced the new digital world and gained over 3 million subscribers. Though Global Trance Grooves has come to an end after 16 years, you can still listen to the past episodes containing over 400 hours of trance music. John Fleming’s more recent venture is J00F Radio, which we’ll explore further below.
4. John 00 Fleming – J00F Radio
John 00 Fleming is considered a pioneer of the electronic music scene and has achieved international success over the course of his career. The first episode of J00F Radio aired on January 1, 2020. John Fleming is a producer and DJ that has remained true to the trance music genre and steers clear of altering his music to fit in with the more “mainstream” music.
5. Tiësto – CLUBLIFE
Tiësto, an extremely well-known Dutch DJ, began his radio show, Club Life Radio, in 2007 and has broadcasted over 800 episodes and counting. The show offers more cutting-edge and deeper techno, trance, and house music, as programmed by DJ Tiësto himself. Club Life Radio also features exclusive mix sets, fresh releases, and interviews tracking the most popular trance artists and tracks.
6. Aly & Fila – Future Sound of Egypt (FSOE)
The sixth trance music podcast on our list is the legendary Future Sound of Egypt, commonly referred to as “FSOE.” Widely considered to be one of the most influential trance music radio shows of all time, Future Sound of Egypt has been a mainstay on the scene for over a decade. Hosted by Aly & Fila, Future Sound of Egypt always features the latest and greatest in trance and progressive music, making it essential listening for any fan of the genre. In addition to new music, Aly & Fila also regularly invites special guests onto the show to share their knowledge and expertise with the listeners.
7. Markus Schulz – Global DJ Broadcast
Markus Schulz has been blessing us with his weekly radio show, Global DJ Broadcast, since 2002. Global DJ Broadcast is a highly acclaimed and one of the most renowned radio shows within the genre of trance music. This radio show has over 20 FM and digital syndication partners, so you have trance music easily accessible.
8. Anjunabeats Worldwide
Jonathan “Jono” Grant and Paavo Siljamäki of Above & Beyond founded the British record company, Anjunabeats, in 2000. Anjuna takes its name from a beach in Goa, India. Anjunabeats Worldwide radio show emerged in 2014 where a new episode was broadcasted weekly. The goal of the show was to offer the latest from various Anjunabeats artists. The Anjunabeats record label consists of several (I believe 45+) very impressive, talented artists. Needless to say, the show was a major success. After several years, the radio show came to an end, however, all 300+ episodes are still available for your listening pleasure!
9. Alex M.O.R.P.H. – Universal Nation
Universal Nation is a radio show brought to us by German trance DJ and producer, Alex M.O.R.P.H. The show airs weekly and features the latest and greatest in trance and progressive music, as well as exclusive guest mixes and discussions with some of the biggest names in trance music.
10. Bryan Kearney – Kearnage
Kearnage is a trance music radio show hosted by Bryan Kearney, an Irish DJ/Producer with over 15 years of experience. The first episode of Kearnage was aired in 2013 and is still going strong. Bryan Kearney is a talented technician who has climbed the ranks of global trance music. If you’re a fan of high energy, tech trance, then this is a podcast you’ll want to check out.
11. Solarstone – Pure Trance Radio
Pure Trance Radio is Solarstone’s long-running, weekly podcast that features progressive and uplifting trance. Solarstone (Richard Mowatt’s stage name) is an Irish trance producer, composer, and DJ. This podcast has one hour long episodes that showcase a collection of amazing artists like Sneijder, Orkidea, Gai Barone, John 00 Fleming, and many others. Pure Trance Radio has an impressive 8+ million listeners and is very appropriately named as it brings it listeners organic trance music, not the trendy, mainstream versions of trance music.
12. Paul van Dyk – VONYC Sessions
The VONYC Sessions podcast is hosted by German DJ and producer, Paul van Dyk. Paul van Dyk, real name Matthias Paul, is one of the first truly well-known DJs. PVD was the first artist to be recognized with a Grammy Award nomination for his 2003 album, “Reflections,” in the newly introduced category of Best Dance/Electronic album. Paul van Dyk’s VONYC Sessions radio show has been around since 2010 and has aired nearly 500 episodes.
13. Ferry Corsten – RESONATION Radio (previously known as Corsten’s Countdown)
Ferry Corsten is a platinum award winning trance music producer and DJ from Rotterdam, Netherlands. Ferry Corsten’s podcast, Corsten’s Countdown, was first broadcast in 2010. After 14 year and 700 episodes, Corsten’s Countdown came to an end, and RESONATION Radio was born. RESONATION Radio is streamed live from the A State Of Trance studios in Amsterdam and airs weekly. Each episode is an hour long and showcases the newest songs in trance music.
